Aside from that, Marcos said P20 million will be given to all Department of Health hospitals for their recovery, while P5 million each will be given to provincial hospitals.

Marcos said he also directed the Department of Budget and Management to release the Local Government Support Fund for the victims.

''Besides that ininstructionan ko ang DBM magrelease ng Local Government Support Fund in the amount of P150 million for the province of Cebu and P75 million for San Remigio, Bogo, and Medellin,'' Marcos said.

In response, Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said that the DBM would immediately release funds and continue to coordinate with other government agencies to facilitate the swift delivery of emergency services to the earthquake victims.

Later in the day, Cebu 5th District Representative Duke Frasco said that he and his wife, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, asked Marcos for financial support for Borbon town upon learning that it was not included in the list of municipalities that will receive financial assistance from the OP.

''Tonight, we received the good news from the Office of the President that the President will be providing P10 million, along with additional LGSF support for infrastructure,'' Frasco said in a social media post.

Meanwhile, the Cebu provincial government said that no permit is required for private individuals or groups that transport relief goods to Northern Cebu.

''Those who wish to deliver aid directly may do so without needing to register with the province,'' it said.

Donations coursed through the provincial government would be received and recorded at the Command Center to ensure transparency, proper documentation, and accountability, and to guarantee that assistance reaches intended beneficiaries.

Cebu province has been placed under a state of calamity due to the impacts of the earthquake.

The death toll from the Cebu earthquake has increased to 72, according to the latest figures from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The agency said all casualties are still for validation.

The magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu on Tuesday has affected 47,221 families, or 170,959, and displaced 20,000 persons, according to NDRRMC's data.
