Saudi Arabia extends condolences to PH over Cebu earthquake
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has conveyed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the Philippine government and people following the powerful earthquake that struck Cebu and nearby provinces, causing casualties and leaving several people missing.
In a statement, the embassy also expressed "the Kingdom’s solidarity with the Philippines during this difficult time, while extending wishes for the swift recovery of the injured and the safe return of those missing to their families."
The magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu on Tuesday night has affected 47,221 families, or 170,959, and displaced 20,000 persons, according to their data.
Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 72. A total of 2,250 police officers have been deployed to support ongoing operations, including augmentation from other police regions. — Sherylin Untalan/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
