Jinggoy Estrada to file perjury complaint vs Brice Hernandez

Senator Jinggoy Estrada is set to file a perjury complaint against a former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) assistant district engineer over his accusations alleging the solon is involved in the anomalous flood control projects.

In a media advisory, the office of the senator said Estrada will file the complaint against former Bulacan 1st District assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez at the Quezon City Office of the City Prosecutor on Tuesday, October 7.

It can be recalled that Hernandez implicated Estrada in anomalous flood control projects during a House Infrastructure Committee hearing in September, saying that the senator allegedly dumped P355M infrastructure deals in Bulacan.

Estrada, however, denied the allegations.

“Yes, sa sampahan ko ng kaso yan (I will file a case against him). I have to talk to my lawyers,” Estrada previously said.

“Nagalit talaga ako. Talagang napamura ako. Napakasinungaling nitong taong 'to. Because first of all, hinding hindi ko siya kilala, and I have never met that guy," he added.

(I was really angry. I even cursed. That person is a liar. Because first of all, I never knew him and I have never met that guy.)

Hernandez is now among the DPWH personnel and other witnesses who are currently under the "provisional acceptance” into the Witness Protection Program of the Department of Justice (DOJ), but they are not yet state witnesses.

Hernandez previously gave the Department of Justice the information stored on his computer.

He has clarified that the computer contains the names of lawmakers, not senators, who may be linked to anomalous flood control projects.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla previously said that up to 200 individuals nationwide are being investigated for alleged involvement in anomalous flood control projects. —KG, GMA Integrated News
