Drivers’ licenses of motorists in EDSA-Ortigas road rage suspended for 90 days
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered the 90-day suspension of the driver’s licenses of two motorists involved in a road rage incident in the EDSA-Ortigas area.
In a statement, the DOTr said the suspension is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to promote road courtesy and traffic rules and discipline abusive or erring motorists.
A video of the road rage incident showed a Toyota Innova and a Toyota Wigo driving close to each other in the EDSA-Ortigas area as they attempted to navigate the traffic jam.
A passenger of the Wigo was seen flashing his middle finger at the Innova after the Wigo cut into the Innova’s lane and stopped, forcing the Innova to screech to a halt.
The DOTr said the Land Transportation Office has summoned the drivers and registered owners of the two vehicles today, Oct. 9, to explain the incident.
The two motorists may face charges such as reckless driving, obstruction, and improper person to operate a motor vehicle. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
