Palace names new heads of LTO, LTFRB, OTC

Malacañang announced Friday a reshuffle among top officials of key offices under the Department of Transportation.

In a message to reporters, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said Markus Lacanilao has been named Land Transportation Office chairman, replacing Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, who will now serve as chairman of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.

Former LTFRB chair Teofilo Guadiz III has been reassigned as chairman of the Office of Transport Cooperatives.

Malacañang has yet to release details on the reasons for the reorganization, which comes as the transportation department continues to pursue reforms in licensing, franchising, and regulatory operations.—Sherylin Untalan/AOL, GMA Integrated News
