PAO assigns 8 lawyers to help ICI

The Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) has assigned eight lawyers to assist the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) during its transition period, the commission said Friday.

According to the ICI, the lawyers will serve at the commission for four days a week and will report to PAO every Monday.

This will start on October 14, Tuesday and will last for six months.

“The PAO lawyers will be assisting with the legal requirements of the ICI pursuant to its mandate,” commission spokesperson Brian Hosaka said in a message to reporters.

“This is also in connection with the memorandum of the office of the executive secretary to all executive offices and agencies to extend full assistance and cooperation to the ICI,” he added.

According to the ICI, PAO said that a transparent and responsive infrastructure framework is "integral to nation-building and the pursuit of social justice."

For his part, ICI chairman Justice Andres Reyes thanked the PAO for its cooperation.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
