FLOOD CONTROL MESS

DOJ OKs lookout order vs ex-solon, DPWH engineers, others amid ICI probe

DOJ OKs lookout order vs ex-solon, DPWH engineers, others amid ICI probe

The Department of Justice on Wednesday issued an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against an additional 16 individuals amid the controversy on flood control projects.

“The OIC Secretary has approved the ICI’s request against them and an ILBO has already been issued,” the Justice Department said in a statement.

Hours earlier, the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) requested a lookout bulletin order against Former Caloocan Representative Mary Mitzi “Mitch” Cajayon-Uy, three engineers, and other individuals.

Last week, the DOJ issued an ILBO against Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero, and other lawmakers upon the request of the ICI.

DOJ officials previously said that an ILBO directs Immigration employees to inform law enforcement agencies regarding the whereabouts of the individuals named in the order.

It, however, does not prevent any individual from leaving the country.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
