Seller of expired food nabbed in Taytay, Rizal

Authorities arrested an individual in Taytay, Rizal for selling expired food, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said Friday.

The operation stemmed from a complaint by a representative of a corporation regarding expired or adulterated products that were being sold at a store and kept in a warehouse in Taytay.

Following this, NBI agents implemented a search warrant at a warehouse in Barangay Dolores. This led to the arrest of the subject in an entrapment operation. 

Authorities also seized two truckloads of expired products.

The subject was presented for inquest proceeding for violation of the Consumer Act of the Philippines before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Rizal on October 10. —VAL, GMA Intregrated News
