Mary Jane Veloso's family asks SC to hasten resolution of cases
The parents of Mary Jane Veloso on Thursday asked the Supreme Court (SC) to speed up the resolution of cases she filed against her alleged traffickers with a Nueva Ecija court.
(We are pleading that they expedite Mary Jane’s testimony... I really, really want Mary Jane to be brought home.)

The National Union of People’s Lawyers (NUPL) said they asked the SC to decide on the motion to proceed with the cases.
Veloso had filed cases for human trafficking, illegal recruitment, and estafa against Maria Cristina Sergio and Julius Lacanilao.
Celia and her husband, Cesar, also reiterated their call for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to grant Veloso clemency.
After being detained for almost 15 years in Indonesia due to drug trafficking, the Indonesian government agreed to transfer her custody to the Philippines in December 2024. Veloso has maintained her innocence on multiple occasions.
(My daughter has been imprisoned for a long time. You know that Mary Jane is a victim. She has been in prison for almost 16 years. She has suffered every kind of pain, so I am pleading with you… please grant her clemency; please allow our family to be together again, especially her children.)
(I hope that before Christmas, they will give Mary Jane back to us.) — VBL, GMA Integrated News
