Influx of passengers at terminals as Undas 2025 long weekend starts
An influx of travelers was observed at bus terminals, seaports, and airports as the long weekend during Undas starts on Friday, GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita reported.
At the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), some passengers arrived at the terminal as early as Thursday evening to secure a ticket and avoid long lines, according to a report of Jhomer Apresto.
A total of 28,000 passengers have been reported at the terminal as of 7 a.m.
Long lines were observed at the ticket booths for trips to Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, and Mindoro.
On Thursday, a total of 194,000 passengers were recorded, which is considered the peak for the Undas season. The number of passengers at the PITX may reach 180,000 to 190,000 on Friday.
From Monday to Wednesday, 72 prohibited items have been confiscated from passengers.
In Baguio City, long lines of passengers were also observed at a terminal, according to a report of GMA Regional TV's Jasmin Gabriel-Gaban.
Some travelers were complaining about taxi drivers who were allegedly picky with passengers.
At the Batangas Port, passengers continued to arrive as the peak volume is expected on Thursday or Friday, according to a report of Tina Panganiban-Perez.
Batangas Port manager Aurora Mendoza said that a total of 11,000 passengers were recorded on Thursday.
Some shipping companies said they will add more trips to accommodate more passengers at the seaport.
There were posts online claiming that some individuals were allegedly extorting P20 from passengers. However, the management said it has not received such reports.
Passengers are advised to not pay extra amount aside from the actual fees.
At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City, some of the passengers arrived three hours earlier than their flight schedule to avoid inconveniences.
So far, no long lines have been observed at Terminal 3.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
