The annual tradition of All Saints' Day (Undas) started off early on Saturday, with thousands of Filipinos already at cemeteries as of 6 a.m.

This is the day Filipinos honor their departed loved ones by lighting candles and saying prayers at their tombs.

As of 6 a.m., 70,000 Filipinos were reported to be in cemeteries and columbaries in Metro Manila, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Public Information Office chief Police Major Hazel Asilo said in an interview on Dobol B TV.

November 1 was earlier declared a special non-working day to allow Filipinos to head to their hometowns and observe the annual tradition with their families.
