Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. was designated acting PNP chief on August 26.
"What we are building is not only a stronger police force but a police service worthy of the confidence of the Filipino people," said Nartatez.
The PNP also reported 11,500 arrests or surrenders, 5,600 confiscated loose firearms, and the seizure of P2.86 million worth of gambling paraphernalia and P337.8 million worth of smuggled goods.
Meanwhile, a total of 335 administrative cases involving 569 personnel had been resolved.
“There is no place in the Bagong PNP for police officers who betray the badge. Our policy is firm—zero tolerance for corruption, abuse, or any act that undermines public trust. We will not hesitate to remove anyone who dishonors the uniform,” Nartatez said. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
