Marcos en route to PH after APEC Summit 2025
BUSAN, South Korea - President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. departed South Korea on Sunday morning after his participation in the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
Before leaving Busan, Marcos and First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos visited the UN Memorial Cemetery and paid their respects.
He also had a tree planting activity with the First Lady.
The plane carrying the President took off from Gimhae Air Base at 11:55 a.m. (South Korea time) and is expected to land in Manila on Sunday afternoon.
During his participation at the APEC Summit, Marcos had bilateral meetings with South Korea and Chile.
He also approached Chinese President Xi Jinping as he congratulated Xi for China’s hosting of APEC next year.
Marcos spoke at the APEC CEO Summit, met with business leaders, and spent time with the Filipino community.
As part of this trip, the Marcos administration has secured a landmark P50.7-billion investment from Samsung Electro-Mechanics Philippine Corporation (SEMPHIL), which is the first project to be granted Presidential Incentives under the CREATE MORE Act (Republic Act No. 12066).
The Presidential Communications Office said this marks a major milestone in the government’s efforts to attract strategic, high-value investments as well as create more quality jobs for Filipinos. —KG, GMA Integrated News
