Pulong Duterte continues father Rody’s Undas tradition

Davao City 1st district Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte has continued the yearly tradition of his father, detained former President Rodrigo Duterte, every Undas season in Davao City.

According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Rgil Relator on Sunday, the elder Duterte used to distribute food whenever he visited his late parents’ mausoleum at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Davao City.

On Sunday afternoon, Duterte’s eldest child took over his father’s duties and distributed food packs to visitors, cemetery workers, and barangay residents outside his grandparents’ mausoleum.

The Duterte patriarch sent flowers to the graves of his parents, Vicente and Soledad, with the messages, “To Papa Vicente from Rody” and “To Nanay Soling from Rody.”

The former President has been detained at the Scheveningen Prison in The Hague since March.

This was after the International Criminal Court ordered his arrest for his alleged crimes against humanity charges in connection with the killings in his war on illegal drugs when he was mayor of Davao City and when he was President. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/JMA, GMA Integrated News
