How to join BOC's auction of 7 Discaya luxury vehicles

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Monday said it will conduct a public auction for seven luxury vehicles of the Discaya family, including a Rolls-Royce Cullinan with its infamous umbrella, on Nov. 17, 2025.

Through sealed bidding, the vehicles up for auction include the following, on an “as is, where is” basis:

  • Toyota Tundra (2022)
  • Toyota Sequoia (2023)
  • Rolls-Royce Cullinan (2023)
  • Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG (2022)
  • Mercedes-Benz G500 (2019, Brabus)
  • Lincoln Navigator L (2021), and
  • Bentley Bentayga (2022)

The auction will be at 10 a.m. at the Situation Room, Ground Floor, Office of the Commissioner (OCOM) Building at the BOC at Manila’s Port Area.

Meanwhile, interested bidders may view the luxury vehicles from Nov. 10 to 12, at the PUC Parking Area, OCOM Grounds.

Interested bidders should complete the Bidder’s Registration Form and bring their latest certified true copy of their Income and/or Business Tax Returns.

Registration should be accomplished one day before the actual bidding until exactly one hour before the actual bidding.

Bidders shall pay a non-refundable registration fee prior to registration and post a duly receipted bond in cash or manager’s check.

Upon the announcement of the winning bid, the winner shall pay the bid price minus than the posted bond.

The highest bid will be declared as the winner except when clustering occurs, which is when the difference between the two highest bids are within 10%.

When a failed bidding is declared, the item or sale will be reoffered after five calendar days upon publication on the BOC’s official website or social media page and a conspicuous place at the Port Area.

If the winning bidder fails to claim the item or lots awarded to him within 30 days from the date of award, he will be deemed to have abandoned the item and have renounced all his rights to it.

Interested bidders may refer to the Official Auction Notice for further details.

Earlier, contractor Sarah Discaya told a Senate hearing that she purchased a P42-million Rolls-Royce simply because she liked the umbrella that came with the luxury car.

The BOC estimated that P100 million in taxes were left unpaid when the Discayas, who are linked to anomalous flood control projects, acquired 13 of their 30 luxury vehicles. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
