OCTA Survey: Marcos, VP Sara Duterte Q3 trust, performance ratings drop

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte both suffered a noticeable drop in their trust and performance ratings for the 3rd quarter of 2025, according to data from OCTA Research.

Based on OCTA's most recent Tugon ng Masa Survey, Marcos saw a large 7-point drop in trust ratings, scoring only 57% in comparison to his 64% score in July 2025.

A majority of his trust ratings came from Balance Luzon with 67%, followed by the NCR with 55%. His distrust ratings also saw a 5-point increase with a total of 25%, most of which came from Mindanao.

The President also saw an 8-point drop in his performance ratings, landing at only 54% in comparison to July 2025’s 62%. He registered a 26% dissatisfaction score.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte had a smaller drop in ratings but saw a continued downward trend for both trust and performance.

Duterte’s trust ratings saw a 3-point drop from 54% in July 2025 to only 51% in the recent survey.

A majority of her trust ratings came from Mindanao with 84%, followed by Visayas with 63%. She also saw a 1-point increase in her distrust rating of 24%.

Her performance ratings also dropped 1-point from 50% in July 2025, to only 49% with a 26% dissatisfaction rating.

“Even with the observed declines, President Marcos Jr. continues to enjoy majority trust and approval among Filipinos, maintaining both ratings above the 50% mark," OCTA said in a statement.

“In contrast, Vice President Duterte-Carpio’s trust rating remains within majority levels, but her performance rating slipped slightly below the majority,” it added.

Data from the survey was gathered through face-to-face interviews of 1,200 respondents, conducted from September 30 to October 4, nationwide.

The survey has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/MCG, GMA Integrated News
