Senate suspends work on November 10, Monday due to Uwan


The Senate announced on Sunday that work in the upper chamber is suspended on November 10, Monday, in light of the threat of Super Typhoon Uwan. 

Secretary of the Senate Atty. Renato Bantug Jr. made the announcement through an advisory. 

“In view of the forecast of heavy rainfall and other potential impacts of Super Typhoon "Uwan", Senate President Vicente C. Sotto Ill has ordered the suspension of work at the Senate tomorrow, 10 November 2025,” Bantug said.

Earlier, Malacañang also announced the suspension of government work in nine regions on November 10 and classes in 12 regions on November 10 to 11 in light of the impact of Super Typhoon Uwan.

Based on the Memorandum Circular No. 106 dated November 9 and signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, government work is suspended in the following regions on November 10, Monday:

  • National Capital Region
  • Cordillera Administrative Region
  • Region I
  • Region II
  • Region III
  • Region IV-A
  • Region IV-B
  • Region V 
  • Region VIII

The memorandum circular said “agencies responsible for basic, vital and health services, preparedness and response duties must continue to remain operational.”

“To further ensure continuity of essential government functions, all other government agencies in the aforementioned Regions may implement alternate work arrangements, as may be necessary, subject to applicable laws, rules and regulations.” —Joviland Rita/RF, GMA Integrated News
