AMID SUPER TYPHOON UWAN'S THREAT

MPTC: Emergency, rescue vehicles to have free access to several expressways


Emergency and rescue vehicles responding to incidents related to Super Typhoon Uwan have free access to several expressways, the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporations (MPTC) said on Sunday.  

“To assist communities affected by Typhoon Uwan, authorized emergency response vehicles deployed for rescue and relief operations will be granted free access across all MPTC expressways: NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, C5 Link, CALAX, and CCLEX,” the MPTC said in a statement.

Earlier, the Department of Transportation said commuters can avail of free train rides at the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 from November 10 to 11 amid the onslaught of Super Typhoon Uwan.

The Office of the President, the Philippine Coast Guard, the Philippine Ports Authority, and Senator Erwin Tulfo’s office will also provide free bus rides on Monday, which will have the following routes.

  • Quiapo - Fairview
  • Quiapo - Angono
  • Lawton - Alabang
  • Roxas Boulevard - Sucat
  • Taft - Cubao
