Power, signal outage in Dinalungan, Aurora after Uwan landfall
A power outage and lack of signal has been reported in Dinalungan, Aurora, where Typhoon Uwan made landfall on Sunday night.
In an interview over Super Radyo dzBB, Elson Egargue, head of the Aurora Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said they have yet to receive reports from Dinalungan following Uwan’s landfall.
(As of now we have yet to receive reports because they no longer have cellphone signal there and they also don’t have any electricity.)
(But we are on standby and monitoring the situation, we are trying our best to contact the town of Dinalungan and as well as Casiguran, the adjacent towns, and Dipaculao also.)
Egargue said more than 5,000 families or more than 17,000 individuals were evacuated from eight towns in Aurora.
He added that Baler, the province’s capital, is also suffering from a power outage following Uwan’s landfall.
