Court suspensions on Nov. 10, Monday —SC

The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday announced that court operations were suspended in several areas on November 10 due to inclement weather.

In a post on X, the High Court said the following courts suspended work:

  • Regional Trial Court (RTC) Office of the Clerk of Court (OCC), RTC Branches 63 and 74, and municipal trial court in cities (MTCC) in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental
  • RTC Branches 68 and 6 (Family Court) Dumangas; municipal trial court (MTC) Barotac, Nuevo; and municipal circuit trial court (MCTC) Pototan-Mina in the Province of Iloilo

“The filing of time-bound pleadings and the issuance of time-bound resolutions and decisions… are SUSPENDED until normal court operations resume,” the SC said.

Exempted from this are matters requiring immediate court action such as applications for bail, release orders, writs of habeas corpus, among others.

On Sunday, Malacañang announced the suspension of government work in nine regions on November 10 and classes in 12 regions on November 10 to 11 due to Typhoon Uwan.

Signal No. 4 remained hoisted over 8 areas in Luzon even as Uwan exited the Luzon landmass early Monday.

Meanwhile, all courts in Talisay City, Cebu also suspended work from November 10 to 11 due to the aftermath of Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi). —Joahna Lei Casilao/KG, GMA Integrated News
