Relic of Saint Carlo Acutis to visit PH this month
A relic of St. Carlo Acutis is set to visit at least 29 churches and a school in Luzon as part of its pilgrimage to the Philippines later this month.
A section of Acutis' pericardium, a membrane that protects the heart, will arrive in the Philippines from Perugia, Italy on November 27, a report by CBCP News said Thursday.
The first-class relic is 6 centimeters long and 2 cm high and kept in a 33 cm tall and 17 cm wide reliquary by the Diocese of Assisi, which looks after Acutis’ relics.
Friends of St. Carlo Acutis – Philippines (FSCAPh), the organizer of the pilgrimage, said more locations may be added.
“Future phases are yet to be organized so it could also cover other key locations in southern Luzon, in the Visayas and and Mindanao,” FSCAPh said in a social media post on Tuesday.
The pilgrimage will be under the episcopal guidance of Bishop Dennis Villarojo of Malolos.

A British-born Italian who died aged 15, St. Carlo Acutis was canonized as the first millennial Catholic saint last September 7.
He learned computer code to build websites as part of evangelization. His story has drawn wide attention from Catholic youth, and he is now at the same level as Mother Teresa and Francis of Assisi. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
