Marcos calls on Filipinos: Keep reporting anomalous flood projects

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday urged the Filipino public to continue reporting anomalous flood control projects through his administration's sumbongsapangulo.ph website.

The President said that since the website was launched last August, it has received over 20,000 reports and complaints.

Without the public's role in reporting anomalous flood control projects, Marcos said, these would not be investigated.

"So, matapos ng dalawang linggo mula ng SONA, binuksan na natin 'yung Sumbong sa Pangulo website para maka-report ang taong-bayan na diretso sa akin. At mula noon, nakatanggap na tayo–, nakatanggap na 'yung Sumbong sa Pangulo website ng more than 20,000 na report na ibinigay," Marcos said in a press conference, referring to his fourth State of the Nation Address last July.

(Two weeks after my SONA, we launched the Sumbong sa Pangulo website so the public can directly report to me. Since then, we have received more than 20,000 reports.)

"Kaya't marami po sa ating mga naimbestigahan na ay hindi po namin malalaman kung hindi ninyo sinumbong sa amin. Napakahalaga ng impormasyon na ibinibigay ng taong-bayan sa ating pamahalaan na malaking–, madaming impormasyon na hindi namin makukuha kung hindi sa inyong sumbong," he added.

(Without your reports, we would not have known about these projects. The public's information and complaints on these projects are very important in our investigation.)

Marcos encouraged citizens to immediately report if they see some information, which needs to be looked into.

"Kaya ipagpatuloy po ninyo 'yung inyong pag-report sa amin kapag mayroon kayong nakita na dapat tingnan, dapat imbestigahan, dapat pag-aralan," the President said.

(Just continue reporting so we will know the things that need to be investigated.)

Marcos launched sumbongsapangulo.ph, a website designed to provide the public with access to information on flood control projects across the country. This also allows them to report any irregularities on such projects.

He vowed that he would personally read the public's reports regarding flood control projects.
