DPWH: 5 national roads, bridges still not passable due to Uwan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported that 5 national roads and bridges remain unpassable due to the impact of Super Typhoon Uwan.

According to an advisory issued at 8 a.m. on Friday, the following roads and bridges remain damaged:

  • Itawes Overflow Bridge 1 in Piat, Cagayan (scoured approach)
  • Alternate route: Aquino Bridge, Lakambini
  • Itawes Overflow Bridge 2 in Tuao, Cagayan (scoured approach)
  • Alternate route: Aquino Bridge, Lakambini 
  • Cabagan - Sta. Maria Overflow Bridge in Cabagan and Sta. Maria, Isabela (high-water elevation)
  • Alternate route: Sta. Maria-Cabagan-Sto. Tomas and Maharlika Highway
  • Nueva Vizcaya-Pangasinan Road in Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya (collapsed road)
  • Bambang-Kasibu-Solano Road in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya (due to fallen rocks and debris, and a damaged box culvert)

“Warning signs were already installed, and assets were already deployed in the affected areas. Continuous monitoring is also being undertaken,” the DPWH said in their advisory.

Earlier, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that there were 625 affected road sections, 277 of which were impassable.

There were also 61 impassable bridges out of 78 reported damaged.

A total of P126,589,000 worth of infrastructure was also reported. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
