AFP closes 2025 'DAGIT-PA' exercise
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday concluded its annual joint military training AFP Joint Exercise (AJEX) “DAGIT-PA” with an improved interoperability under real world conditions.
“Our staff exercise, our command post exercise, sharpened our operational arc and strategic thinking. Our cyber defense and information warfighter exercises expanded our readiness in the cognitive and digital space,” AFP chief General Romeo Brawner said in his speech during the ceremony at Camp Aguinaldo.
“And our field training exercises tested our interoperability and unity under real world conditions. So we went beyond just the land, the sea, and the air domains,” he added.
According to Brawner, the exercise also served as a venue to test the military's newly organized units including the AFP Strategic Command.
AJEX DAGIT-PA started on November 4.
Due to the threat of Super Typhoon Uwan, the exercise was temporarily suspended as the military focused on disaster response on November 9.
For his part, Defense Secretary Teodoro said they are planning to include more government agencies in the next military exercises.
“I think that we will be continuing exercising and expanding the array of what we do and the partners who we do it with,” Teodoro said.
“I'm sure that the exercises will evolve to include other branches of government, not merely our law enforcement authorities, but other agencies which will be vital to the attainment of our mission,” he added. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
