Senate to hold necrological service for Enrile on Nov. 19

Senate to hold necrological service for Enrile on Nov. 19

Senators will hold a necrological service for the late former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile on November 19.

The necrological service will begin at 9 a.m., according to the Senate, adding that only "invited guests and authorized personnel" are permitted admission into the Session Hall.

Before this, arrival honors for the casket bearing Enrile's remains will be conducted at 8:45 a.m.

Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III had earlier said that if the late senator's family wanted it, the Senate would provide necrological services.

Enrile passed away on Thursday at the age of 101 while receiving treatment for pneumonia.

He served four terms in the Senate, which he led from 2008 to 2013. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
