Friends, allies say goodbye to Beltran at IFI church

MANILA, Philippines - Friends and colleagues filled the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) cathedral in Manila Wednesday night to pay their respects to the late Anakpawis party list Rep. Crispin Beltran. Radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported that as of 10 p.m. Wednesday, lawmakers from both houses of Congress joined militants in sharing their experiences working with Beltran. Beltran's remains were brought to the IFI cathedral late Wednesday from his house in Bulacan. Beltran died Tuesday after suffering a bad fall during an accident at home. Among the lawmakers at Wednesday night's wake for Beltran were Reps. Satur Ocampo, Eduardo Zialcita and Roilo Golez; and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano. On the other hand, flower arrangements sent by sympathizers filled the cathedral. Outside the cathedral were tarpaulins bearing Beltran's image. - GMANews.TV
