Quiapo Church bares Nazareno 2026 sked, Traslacion route
The Quiapo Church on Monday presented its plans for the 2026 celebration of the Jesus Nazareno image, including the Traslacion on January 9.
In a press conference, Quiapo Church officials said Nazareno 2026 will be observed from December 31, 2025 to January 9, 2026.
The activities for Nazareno 2026 are scheduled on the following dates:
Quiapo Church
- Novena Masses - December 31, 2025 to January 8, 2026
- Thanksgiving Procession - December 31
- Barangay Visitation (Quiapo District) - January 2 to 6, 2026
- 1st Friday of the Year Masses - January 2, 2026
- Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno Replica and Estandarte Blessing - January 3, 2026
- Pabihis sa Poong Jesus Nazareno - January 7, 2026
- Masses - January 8 to 9, 2026
Quirino Grandstand
- Pahalik - January 7, 2026
- Panalangin sa Takipsilim - January 8, 2026
- Misa Mayor - January 9, 2026
The celebration will culminate with Traslacion or procession of the Jesus Nazareno image from Quirino Grandstand back to the Quiapo Church.
The annual event commemorates the arrival of the image of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno (Our Lord Jesus the Nazarene) from Acapulco, Mexico to the Philippines in 1600's and the transfer from Bagumbayan (old Intramuros) to Quiapo Church - St. John Baptist Parish in 1767.
