INC: We oppose actions that violate the Constitution

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) on Tuesday reiterated that it opposes any action that violates the Constitution, following the conclusion of its two-day rally against corruption on Monday evening.

“From the very start, we have stressed that we are against moves that are against the Constitution. We started peacefully and we ended peacefully,” the INC said in a statement.

INC general evangelist Bienvenido Santiago Jr. previously said the INC’s three-day protest is aimed at calling for concrete actions to end corruption in flood control projects and not the government’s downfall.

The INC was supposed to hold a rally for three days at the Quirino Grandstand from November 16 to 18.

However, the INC ended their rally on November 17, Monday.

It said that it did not need to complete the three days to achieve its goal of calling for justice and accountability “taking into consideration the speed and extent of media coverage” that the rally generated.

The INC, meanwhile, extended its gratitude to the national and local government.

It was during the second day of the rally that Senator Imee Marcos accused her brother, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., of using drugs. Malacañang called the allegations as desperate move. —Joahna Lei Casilao/AOL, GMA Integrated News
