Rodrigo Duterte declared P37.3M net worth in June 2022, SALN shows

Former President Rodrigo Duterte had a net worth of P37.3 million upon stepping down from office in June 2022 — or higher than the net worth that he reported when he became President in June 2016.

This is according to his Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth sourced by GMA Integrated News Research and reported by Maki Pulido on “24 Oras” on Wednesday.

In June 2016, Duterte – then Davao City mayor – declared his net worth to be more than P24 million. This means that his net worth went up by P13.3 million or 55 percent in the six years of his term.

Upon stepping down from office in 2022, the former President reported his assets to be at P38.8 million, which was P13.62 million higher than his declared assets worth P25.18 million in 2016.

Duterte’s assets at the end of his term included seven residential lots and a house and lot in Davao City, as well as two vehicles. His cash on hand was at P23.9 million.

He also reported a P1.5 million liability as he was paying for a loan at that time.

As Chief Executive, he received a P411,000 monthly salary at Salary Grade 33. Duterte would have accumulated P29 million in six years if he did not spend his monthly salary.

The 80-year-old Duterte has been detained at The Hague since March. He is facing allegations of crimes against humanity in connection with his war on illegal drugs during his term as President and as Davao City mayor. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
