Interpol red notice out vs Lucky South 99 corporate sec Ronalyn Baterna —PAOCC
The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued a red notice against Ronalyn Baterna, documented corporate secretary of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) firm Lucky South 99, according to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).
During a Kapihan sa QC press conference on Sunday, PAOCC spokesperson Winston Casio said the Philippine government received the Interpol red notice against Baterna through the Philippine Center for Transnational Crime.
“Natatanggap ng ating bansa 'yung red notice nitong 13 ng Oktober at natanggap ng aming opisina ng PAOCC nung nakaraang linggo,” Casio said.
(The country received the red notice on October 13, and our office at PAOCC received it last week.)
PAOCC earlier said Cassandra "Cassie" Li Ong, the documented representative of Lucky South 99, was last tracked in Japan and is already on an Interpol red notice.
Casio said PAOCC will coordinate with the Department of Justice and the National Bureau of Investigation so that the concerned Philippine government agencies can work with their foreign counterparts regarding Baterna and Ong’s arrest.
The two women have arrest warrants for qualified human trafficking in relation to the alleged scam hub run by Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga.
According to PAOCC, they were able to find evidence of torture, kidnapping, and sex trafficking at the site, as authorities were able to rescue at least 158 foreign employees.
Lucky South 99 has denied the allegations.
Baterna earlier told the House of Representatives' Quad Committee (QuadComm) in a hearing that she issued cheques to Lucky South 99 clients, and that the biggest amount of cheque she issued was worth P500,000.
The money for the cheques, Baterna said, was from Ong. —KG, GMA Integrated News
