Bongbong Marcos on Imee: That lady is not my sister
“That lady that you see talking on TV is not my sister.”
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said this Monday when asked about the accusations of her sister, Senator Imee Marcos, that he is involved in illegal drugs.
During a press conference, the President, who was a bit emotional, admitted that he does not want to talk about family matters in public.
''It's anathema to talk about family matters generally in public. I do not like... we do not like to show our dirty linen in public,'' he said.
''So, I'll just say this much... For a while now, we've been very worried about my sister. When I say we, I'm talking about friends and family, and the reason that is is because the lady you see talking on TV is not my sister. That view is shared by our cousins, friends... hindi siya 'yan,'' he added.
He said he is hoping that Imee would get better soon, noting that their family and friends are worried about the senator.
“I hope she feels better soon,” he said.
Asked if he intends to talk to his sister, Marcos said, ''We don't really... We no longer travel in the same circles, political or otherwise so no.''
Imee, in response, to his brother's latest remarks said, ''Bongbong, ako 'to. Kung ano-ano na nakikita mo, Ading.''
The senator asked her brother to prove that she is wrong with her accusations.
''Patunayan mong mali ako. Gusto kong mali ako,'' she added.
Speaking at the rally of Iglesia Ni Cristo at the Quirino Grandstand on November 17, Senator Marcos accused her brother President Marcos of using drugs, an allegation that Malacañang called "desperate."
She also alleged that First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and some of the President's friends were using illegal drugs.
She added that Marcos’ children, including Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos, were also drug users, and that they also asked her and other members of the family to use illegal drugs.
The senator went on to dare the First Family to take a hair follicle drug test to counter her accusations, in exchange for a DNA test to dispel rumors regarding her parentage.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
