DFA confirms cancellation of passports of Harry Roque, Cassie Ong

The Department of Foreign of Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday confirmed that it has cancelled the passports of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and Lucky South 99 representative Cassandra Li Ong.

The two are co-accused in the human trafficking case for their alleged links to the operations of Lucky South 99 Corporation, a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator hub in Pampanga.

On Monday, the Pasig City Regional Trial Court ordered the cancellation of their passports.

The DFA also said it also canceled the passports of Ronelyn Baterna, Mercides Macabasa, and Dennis Lacson Cunanan, also for their roles in Lucky South 99 operations.

“This DFA action is consistent with the provisions of RA No 11983 and its IRR. Following established procedures, law enforcement and border control authorities have been notified about these cancelled travel documents,” the DFA said in a statement.

Ong was last tracked in Japan and is already on an Interpol red notice.

On Tuesday, Roque denied reports that he was arrested, adding that he was scheduled to fly to Vienna, Austria.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
