GMA Network bags 7 awards at PHA Media Awards 2025

The Philippine Heart Association on Wednesday recognized GMA Integrated News, GMA News Online, and DZBB's Pinoy MD for their collective contributions to responsible cardiovascular journalism and public health.

The following received recognition during the PHA Media Awards:

• GMA Integrated News - Media Entity Category
• GMA News Online - Media Entity Category
• Jiselle Casucian (PHA renews call for DepEd to fully implement Samboy Lim Law) - Best News Story
• Pinoy MD, DZBB - Program Category
• Connie Sison - Hall of Fame
• Amita Legaspi - Behind the Scenes Category
• Mackay Quadra - Behind the Scenes Category

This is the fourth consecutive year that PHA hailed GMA News Online for reporting accurate and timely heart health news. 

GMA Network and GMA News Online were commended for exceptional commitment to responsible news reporting and promotion of the PHA Usapang Puso sa Puso, PHA Puso Muna, CPR-readyPH, and One Cardiologist for Every City Advocacies 

Casucian, GMA News Online reporter, was recognized for presenting critical cardiovascular conditions and issues with clarity and accuracy driven by personal and professional mission to act in the public service.

Pinoy MD, DZBB was applauded for delivering impactful, well-researched, and compelling content that elevates public understanding of cardiovascular wellness and management.

Legaspi, GMA News Online editor, and Quadra, Pinoy MD, DZBB executive producer, were hailed for their indispensable role in shaping impactful, credible, and meaningful health stories beyond the spotlight. 

It was the second time Legaspi and Quadra received the award.

Sison, host of Pinoy MD, DZBB, was honored for her unwavering dedication to advancing heart-health education through her high-impact body of work as a media practitioner; and exemplary brand of service in embracing her craft as a special calling.
