14 La Loma lechon stores now ASF-free, says QC LGU

The Quezon City government on Thursday announced that no more African Swine Flu (ASF) virus was detected in 14 lechon establishments that were temporarily closed in the La Loma district.

“Ikinalulugod na ibalita ng lokal na pamahalaan na wala nang ASF virus sa 14 na lechon establishment sa La Loma, Quezon City,” the local government unit said.

On November 13, the Quezon City government issued temporary closure orders against 14 lechon stalls in La Loma after some pigs in the area tested positive for ASF.

Ito'y bilang pagsunod sa memorandum ng Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI),” the LGU said.

(After issuing a temporary closure order on them on November 13, the establishments, in collaboration with the City Veterinary Department and QC Health Department, conducted daily disinfection for a week. This is in compliance with the memorandum of the Bureau of Animal Industry.)

(Apart from the disinfection, the 14 establishments were ordered to comply with the required sanitary, safety and health protocols.)

So far, three of the concerned lechon stalls have been given a lifting order for their reopening after they passed the regulations of the City Health Department and City Veterinary Department.
