St. Carlo Acutis’ relic now in PH for pilgrimage

A relic of newly canonized St. Carlo Acutis is now in the country for an 18-day pilgrimage across 16 dioceses.

According to a statement of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), St. Acutis’ heart pericardium relic arrived in Manila from Italy on Thursday.

The relic was accompanied and carried by Msgr. Anthony Figueiredo, director of international affairs of the Diocese of Assisi.

Acutis’ relic is set to visit at least 29 churches and a school in Luzon from November 28 to December 15 as part of its pilgrimage.

The relic – said to be 6 centimeters long and 2 cm high and kept in a 33 cm tall and 17 cm wide reliquary – will be under the care of the Friends of St. Carlo Acutis – Philippines (FSCAPh).

Acutis was canonized as the first millennial saint on September 7. He was made a saint for learning how to utilize the Internet and computer coding for evangelization.
