86 dioceses to join nationwide anti-corruption rally —CBCP
Calling it a "broad, united stand against corruption," at least 86 Catholic dioceses announced that they will join the second “Trillion Peso March” on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from various points across the country.
The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Commission on Social Action, Justice and Peace (ECSA-JP)said the dioceses across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will have local prayer rallies, according to CBCP News.
“These arch/dioceses have confirmed their participation in the Trillion Peso March as arch/diocesan provincial prayer rallies on November 30,” said ECSA-JP chairman Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo of Kidapawan.
In Metro Manila, the Archdiocese of Manila and the dioceses of Cubao, Kalookan, Pasig, Novaliches, and Parañaque will participate, CBCP News added.
The November 30 mobilization is a sequel to the September 21 rally mounted by multi-sectoral organizations to demand accountability of government officials and personalities involved in alleged multi-billion peso corruption of flood control project funds.
On November 18, 2025, the Office of the Ombudsman filed before the Sandiganbayan corruption and malversation of public funds charges against former Ako-Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, several officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 4B, and Sunwest Corporation directors.
The charges were in connection with the alleged anomalous P289 million flood control project in Oriental Mindoro.
The Ombudsman said it in investigating more cases linked to the flood control project anomalies.
Earlier, the Trillion Peso March Movement (TPMM), a coalition of religious and multi-sectoral organizations leading the rallies, reiterated it wants officials and personalities involved in the anomalies arrested and jailed, and the stolen funds returned to the government.
It said it is against efforts to bring down the government, establish a military junta or revolutionary government, or force the resignation of the country's leaders.
Various groups are expected to gather at the People Power Monument in EDSA and in Luneta and Mendiola in Manila for the November 30 rallies.
The Philippine National Police said it will deploy 15,000 cops for the activities.
