Marcos critics hold protest at EDSA Shrine, Liwasang Bonifacio

Several critics of the Marcos administration held a protest at EDSA Shrine in Quezon City and Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila on Sunday as they called for the resignation of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

According to Darlene Cay’s report on “24 Oras Weekend,” the members of the PDP-Laban,  Marcos Resign Movement, Marcos Alis Diyan Network, and Bangon Sambayanan People’s Movement believe that Marcos has something to do with the corruption in the government.

“Ito po ay isang malinaw na panawagan, wala ng patutunguhan ang gobyerno ni Marcos, pabagsak na ito, at lugmok na ang bansa,” said Eric Celis, Bangon Sambayanan People’s Movement Secretary General.

(This is a clear call: the Marcos government is going nowhere, it is collapsing, and the country is devastated.)

Police tried to disperse them due to the lack of permit, but they were eventually allowed to continue their program in front of a mall in EDSA-Ortigas. They dispersed before 4 p.m.

In Liwasang Bonifacio, there were also groups and Duterte supporters who also called for the resignation of Marcos. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
