DOLE: Labor inspections to continue this December to enforce labor standards
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Monday reminded companies that labor inspections will continue this December for specific instances as part of its enforcement of labor standards.
In its Labor Advisory No. 14, series of 2025, the DOLE said the conduct of labor inspection and related activities from November 30 to December 31, 2025 “shall continue to be prioritized” in select instances.
Labor inspections shall be allowed in the following instances:
- If an inspection arises from a complaint;
- Occupational safety and health (OSH) investigations and inspections conducted in the aftermath of disruptive events, such as natural calamities and human-induced disasters;
- Technical safety inspections such as inspection of boilers, pressure vessels, mechanical and electrical wiring installations;
- When work is performed in high-risk establishments, as identified under Department Order No. 252, Series of 2025, that expose them to imminent danger;
- Establishments where economic activities and demand are expected to peak during the holiday season, such as those in the manufacturing, construction, telecommunication, pyrotechnics, and public transportation industries; and
- Technical and advisory visits of micro establishments.
Labor inspection activities are part of the DOLE’s visitorial and enforcement powers in relation to administering and enforcing labor standards in establishments as mandated by the Labor Code.
“Monitoring of compliance with correction orders, conduct of mandatory conferences and other related activities arising from previously conducted inspection activities, and issuance and enforcement of compliance orders shall continue in accordance with Department Order No. 238, Series of 2023,” the DOLE advisory added. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
