DOTr: 3 Dalian train sets deployed in MRT-3 starting December 25

Three sets of three-car Dalian trains will be deployed starting December 25, 2025 to accommodate more passengers during the holiday rush. 

“Inaasahang maide-deploy para sa commercial operations ang tatlong three-car Dalian train sets sa Araw ng Pasko,” the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said in a statement Monday.

(The three sets of three-car Dalian trains are expected to be deployed for commercial operations by Christmas Day.)

Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez and MRT-3 General Manager Mike Capati rode one of these trains during a test last Saturday. 

The other two sets of Dalian trains are expected to undergo testing this December. 

Lopez ordered MRT-3 to continue implementing strict safety checks and utilization procedures for the Dalian trains to ensure that they are safe for passengers. 

According to the DOTr, each car of the Dalian train can load 1,156 passengers.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
