First Family open to lifestyle check —Palace

Malacañang on Tuesday said the First Family is open to a lifestyle check amid corruption issues in the government.

Malacañang on Tuesday said the First Family is open to a lifestyle check amid corruption issues in the government.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro was asked for comment on the investigative report about the distribution of “allocable” infrastructure funds that placed Ilocos Norte among the top recipients.

The report stated that the district, represented by Ilocos Norte Representative Ferdinand Alexander ''Sandro'' Marcos received around P15.8 billion in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) allocable funds from 2023 to 2025.

Castro said Sandro, the eldest son of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr., has already mentioned that he is open to any kind of investigation amid the issues thrown against him.

''Nabasa na po ng Pangulo ang nabanggit na report or pag-uulat ng PCIJ. But as of now, I cannot speak for and in behalf of Congressman Sandro Marcos.

(The President was able to read the report of the PCIJ. But as of now, I cannot speak for and in behalf of Congressman Sandro Marcos. He already said that he is willing to undergo investigation before the ICC. Just give him a date for the schedule.)

Asked if the Palace would be open to the possibility of a lifestyle check for the President's son and the First Family, Castro said anyone could be subjected to a lifestyle check and that the Marcoses are "open" to this.

''Open po, even before...'' Castro said.

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. is also ready to undergo a lifestyle check, Castro previously said.

She stressed that all members of the Executive branch of the government is ready to subject themselves to  lifestyle checks. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
