Palace on Sara Duterte's fight vs. greedy execs: Let's start with OVP

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro on Tuesday said the fight against greedy government officials should start at the Office of the Vice President.

In a press briefing, Castro was asked for comment on the remarks made by Vice President Sara Duterte that she would continue to fight against the greed of certain high-ranking officials in the government. 

''Okay. Siguro unahin po muna natin sa OVP. Iyon lang po,'' Castro said. 

(Okay. Maybe let's start first at the OVP. That is all.) 

Duterte made the commitment as she released the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) year-end report, highlighting her office’s accomplishments in each of the programs it implemented this 2025. 

She earlier said she would continue to show that ''it is important to us in the Office of the Vice President to have a plan, an efficient project implementation, to fight corruption, and have courage and care to bring peace and prosperity to our nation.''

Duterte and President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. were running mates in Eleksyon 2022, with the latter being appointed as Education chief. Their relations, however, had gone sour as she eventually quit from the Cabinet post. —RF, GMA Integrated News
