PhilEd 2025 tackles improving SHS, using AI in learning
Strengthening the senior high school program and the safe use of artificial intelligence (AI) in school were among the topics discussed on the last day of the Philippine Education Conference (PhilEd) 2025 on Thursday.
During the morning sessions, improving teacher education in the country was also highlighted.
“The second set of #2025PhilEd Conference concurrent sessions in the morning focused on topics about preparing schools for the strengthened SHS curriculum, improving teacher education through curriculum and quality assurance, and transforming DepEd’s Bureau of Education Assessment to modernize testing and accountability. Other discussions highlighted rationalizing education subsidy programs and exploring international accreditation options for HEIs to boost global competitiveness,” the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) said.
Later in the day, the effective use of AI in learning was among the topics discussed.
“This afternoon’s #2025PhilEd Conference concurrent sessions explored topics such as using AI safely and effectively in schools, enhancing learning through AI integration, and leveraging international large-scale assessments to guide school improvement. Other discussions covered decentralizing education governance and rethinking programs for technical professionals to meet global industry demands,” said PEAC.
More than 3,500 educators and administrators gathered for the conference.
PEAC and other associations of private schools in the country issued a joint statement expressing their support for the reforms and the Department of Education’s (DepEd) proposed P1.044-trillion budget for 2026.
