BJMP: Alice Guo transferred to women's correctional

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo has been transferred from the Pasig City Jail to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Super Radyo dzBB's Olan Bola reported that Guo was moved to the CIW on Friday night.

In a statement, the BJMP said Guo, Rachelle Joan Carreon, and Jaimielyn Cruz were officially received by the CIW at 10:48 p.m.

Guo, Carreon, and Cruz were found guilty of qualified human trafficking by a Pasig City court, which also ordered their detention at the Mandaluyong facility.

The case was in connection with the raid on a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban in June 2024, where over 800 Filipinos and foreigners were rescued.

The dismissed mayor's camp had earlier asked to remain at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory instead of being transferred to the CIW. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
