Consular Corps of the Philippines vows to do more charity works in 2026

The Consular Corps of the Philippines, an association of consular officers in the country, held its annual ball on Saturday, December 6 in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

The event held at Makati Shangri-La was graced by various consuls and diplomats including US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson and Consul Agnes Huibonhoa of the Republic of the Gambia.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos was present at the event.

Huibonhoa, who will be the incoming dean, said the event showcases the good ties every country has with the Philippines.

“Ang pinaka-importante sa event na ito is napapasama natin ang lahat ng mga bayan, magsama-sama, magkaroon ng collaboration with each country and the Philippines. And then merong good ties between everybody here,” she said.

(The most important thing about this event is that we are able to bring all the nations together, to come together, to have collaboration with each country and the Philippines. And then there are good ties between everybody here.)

Huibonhoa also vowed that the corps will do more charity projects in 2026.

“Itong pag-start nitong taon na ito, itong 50th year, I will make sure -- because I will be the incoming dean -- I will make sure that we will have more charitable projects for the young girls, for feeding children that are homeless, and we'd also like to help the elderlies,” she said.
