Who is China's new envoy to PH?
Ambassador Jing Quan was recently named as the new envoy of China to the Philippines.
Information released by the Department of Foreign Affairs stated that prior to his designation in the Philippines, Quan served as minister in the Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of the Republic of China in the United States of America.
From 2018 to 2021, Quan was designated as Deputy Director-General in the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs.
Quan hails from Hancheng, Shaanxi Province in China. He is married with one daughter.
On Wednesday, Quan paid a courtesy call on Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Maria Theresa Lazaro.
Lazaro said she discussed ties between Manila and Beijing with Quan as well as ''our shared interest in dialogue, stability, and expanded cooperation in trade and people-to-people exchanges.''
Quan also presented an open copy of credentials to Philippine Assistant Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Director-General of Protocol Ariel Rodelas Peñaranda on December 9 after arriving in Manila last December 6. —RF, GMA Integrated News
