PNP attributes 12.86% dip in crimes in Nov. 2025 to more police presence
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recorded a 12.86% decline in crimes from October to November this year, which it attributed to improved police presence and intelligence operations against criminals.
In a statement on Thursday, the PNP said crime incidents dropped from 3,001 in October to 2,615 in November, or a decrease of 386 cases.
It also noted a significant decline in three focus crimes: rape, physical injury, and murder.
“Rape recorded the sharpest drop, falling by 194 cases – from 550 to 356 (35.27%). Physical Injury decreased by 65 cases, from 377 to 312 (17.24%), while Murder declined by 40 cases – from 282 to 242 (14.18%),” the PNP said.
In addition, there was a drop in theft cases from 1,173 in October to 1,063 in November. Incidents of motorcycle theft also fell from 211 in October to 206 in November.
There was also a reduction in cybercrime-related incidents from 379 in October to 311 in November.
The PNP also noted a sustained downward trend over a 15-week period that complemented the observed monthly decline.
“Weekly crime incidents fell from a peak of 767 at the start of the series to 466 by December 2 - 8, 2025 – representing a 39% reduction and signaling major gains in crime management and operational effectiveness,” the police force said.
The PNP said the sustained drop in national crime volume “reflects cohesive and calibrated enforcement efforts rather than isolated gains.”
“The consistent decline in high-impact crimes indicates that preventive patrols, intelligence-driven deployments, and community-engaged policing are disrupting both opportunistic and repeat-offender activity,” it added. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
