Marcos doesn't want half-baked anti-dynasty bill —Palace

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. does not want a half-baked anti-political dynasty measure, Malacañang said on Friday.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a briefing that the President wants this measure to be studied thoroughly.

''Even during the LEDAC meeting, sinabi po ng Pangulo na ito ay araling mabuti... at kailangang maipasa sa pinakamabilis na panahon,'' Castro said.

(Even during the LEDAC meeting, the President said this should be studied properly and be passed as soon as possible.)

''Pag sinabi nating aralin, ibig sabihin hindi minadali, half-baked, hindi ganoon ang nais ng Pangulo... dapat maayos at mapapakinabangan at magagamit at magiging kapaki-pakinabang sa ating mga kababayan,''she added.

(When we say study, it means it was not rushed, the President does not want it half-baked. This should be beneficial to the public.)

Marcos has called on Congress to prioritize the passage of the Anti-Dynasty Bill.

Several measures have been filed in both the House of Representatives and the Senate seeking to give effect to the 1987 Constitution’s provision mandating the prohibition of political dynasties.

Castro had said the political landscape in the country has changed, prompting the President to support the proposed anti-dynasty measure.

She had pointed out that with what is currently happening in the government, ''public demands a fairer system.''
