LIVE UPDATES: Bicam hearing for proposed 2026 national budget (Dec. 14, 2025)


Members of the Bicameral Committee will again meet on Sunday afternoon for Day 2 of deliberations on the proposed P6.793-trillion national budget for 2026.

The lawmakers will meet at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

At the bicam hearing, lawmakers from the Senate and House of Representatives discuss their disagreeing votes.

On Day 1 (Saturday, Dec. 13), Senate finance committee chairman Sherwin Gatchalian, Senators Loren Legarda, Imee Marcos, Bong Go, Kiko Pangilinan, Erwin Tulfo, and Mark Villar sat with the House contingent.

The House was represented by appropriations committee chairperson Mikaela Suansing, appropriations senior vice chairperson Albert Garcia, Deputy Speaker Kristine Singson-Meehan, Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, and Representatives Maria Carmen Zamora, Jose Alvarez, Rufus Rodriguez, Jurdin Jesus Romualdo, Brian Yamsuan, Javier Miguel Benitez, and Allan Ty.

It was the first time the bicam hearings were livestreamed.

Among the proposed 2026 budgets to be discussed on Sunday is that of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
