CAAP extends flight ban over Mayon Volcano anew until morning of Dec. 15, 2025
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has extended its flight ban over Mayon Volcano in Albay anew until Monday morning, December 15.
According to Sam Nielsen’s report over Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday evening, the CAAP issued an updated Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) covering flights near Mayon Volcano.
The NOTAM with vertical limits of up to 11,000 feet or 3,353 meters will be in effect from 7:47 a.m. of Sunday, December 14 until 9 a.m. of Monday, December 15.

The CAAP advised flight operators to avoid flying close to Mayon Volcano amid its recent low-level unrest.
Last week, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said spines of dark lava were seen coming out of Mayon Volcano’s summit lava dome, which indicated the “presence of a new and shallow magma within the edifice.”
