Lacson hopeful that Marcos admin will sincerely back anti-political dynasty bill
Senator Panfilo Lacson on Sunday said he is hopeful that the Marcos administration will lend its “sincere” support to the Anti-Political Dynasty Bill amid the call of some lawmakers for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to certify it as an urgent measure.
“We’re very hopeful na sincere ang BBM administration na talagang i-push through ito (We’re very hopeful that the BBM administration is sincere in really pushing through for this),” Lacson told Super Radyo dzBB.
“Indirectly, talagang nakaka-contribute ito (political dynasty) sa corruption,” he added.

Lacson said he will preside over the second committee hearing on the anti-political dynasty bill when the Senate resumes sessions in January so that a committee report can be immediately drafted.
In a statement, the senator pointed out that political dynasties have been linked to the anomalous flood control projects.
"We’re all on the spot here,” Lacson said. “Netizens noted political dynasties are a factor in anomalous flood control projects because family members succeed each other in Congress.”
Section 26, Article II of the 1987 Philippine Constitution provides that “the State shall guarantee equal access to opportunities for public service and prohibit political dynasties as may be defined by law.”
Citing the prevalence of abuses among politicians, Malacañang said changes in the country’s political landscape prompted the President to support the proposed anti-political dynasty bill.
